Ceredigion & Cardigan Bay & the Cambrian Mountains
Why not join them in Ceredigion and discover a perfect combination of coast and countryside to explore and enjoy. Travel by train to Aberystwyth or enjoy a leisurely drive through the Cambrian Mountains to Cardigan Bay, famous for its bottlenose dolphins, grey seals and rare birdlife. Take a steam train trip to Devil's Bridge, or discover the legend of the sunken forest at Ynyslas. Whatever the weather, they've got plenty of ideas, experiences and stories to share with you.
Ceredigion coast and countryside has unbeatable views – from dawn over the Cambrian Mountains to sunset on Cardigan Bay. Which stretch of the 60 mile Ceredigion Coast Path will become your favourite? Try Aberporth to Llangrannog with a beach waterfall at Tresaith, an ancient hill fort and the legend of a giant's tooth! Take your own picnic of fresh local ingredients or look forward to lunch or dinner at a pub overlooking the beach. The colourful harbours of New Quay and Aberaeron are good starting points too. Why not then cycle inland to visit the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate – it's traffic free, as is the Ystwyth trail, which follows the former railway line to Tregaron.
You'll never forget the thrill of spotting dolphins and other wildlife on a boat trip on Cardigan Bay or the marvel of Red Kites at feeding time at the Forest Centre at Nant yr Arian. Have a go at surfing, sailing, windsurfing or kayaking, or if you prefer to stay firmly on land, there's mountain biking trails and horse riding to try. Build your sandcastle on one of their award winning beaches, catch crabs from the harbour wall or feed your curiosity exploring a rock pool. And after all that fresh air you will be ready for a feast – savour our mountain lamb, seafood fresh from the bay, and a tasty honey treat. Then kick your feet up, relax and share your tales.
