ENJOY STAFFORDSHIRE BROCHURE
www.enjoystaffordshire.com
Just about anything's possible on a Staffordshire short break.
On a Staffordshire short break you'll find something different around every corner. Overload on fun and excitement at Alton Towers Resort and Drayton Manor Theme Park. Enjoy some wonderful outdoors in the Staffordshire Peak District - rugged gritstone crags, or breathtaking, peaceful limestone valleys with fascinating rock formations.
You'll find a fantastic choice of accommodation right across the county to bring all of these attractions within easy reach.
For activities, Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has cycle trails and beautiful walking routes through open heathland and mixed forests where deer roam wild. Or head for The National Forest, a bold environmental conservation project of over 200 square miles of ancient and new woodland.
The Potteries has world famous names like Wedgwood, Portmeirion, Spode and Moorcroft. Come and pick up wonderful bargains at factory outlet shops, or have a great time making your own pot.
The county has many lovely gardens where you can explore exotic themed creations, perennial displays and endless acres of beautiful parkland. Why not spend some quiet time in the 150 acres of wooded parkland that form The National Memorial Arboretum?
You’ll also find some of the finest stately houses. At the Shugborough Estate you can see the treasures of celebrated photographer Lord Patrick Lichfield and tour his private apartments. Spend a day at Weston Park enjoying fine architecture and many attractions set in 1,000 acres of sumptuous Capability Brown parkland.
Discover many fascinating museums where you can enjoy history brought to life. See the Staffordshire Hoard Anglo-Saxon treasure, on permanent display at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
Explore Lichfield and visit the magnificent 3-spired medieval cathedral, centrepiece of this wonderful Heritage City. Or try a spooky ghost hunt, experience the county’s gory past and the many exciting current events at historic castles: Tamworth, Tutbury and Stafford. Each one is a fascinating day out for all the family.
So is the Trentham Estate, 725 acres of beautiful park and woodland, lakeside walks and award winning formal gardens. There's even a Monkey Forest with 150 free roaming Macaques.
You can ride on a steam train through the lovely Staffordshire countryside. Or steer a narrowboat along peaceful canals, Staffordshire has more miles of them than any other county.
When you've worked up an appetite, Staffordshire has no end of award winning flavours and the pick of dining styles, from traditional tearooms to elegant restaurants, contemporary brasseries to cosy pubs.
Altogether you'll find so much in Staffordshire to make your perfect short break.
Enjoy Staffordshire
A world of possibilities
