ARGOS CATALOGUE

History of Argos

Argos is a British retailer that was founded in 1972. The company was originally a catalog-based business, with customers ordering items from a catalogue and then picking them up at a nearby store. Over time, Argos expanded to include an online retail presence, as well as a network of physical stores across the UK. Today, Argos is a leading retailer in the UK and Ireland, known for offering a wide range of products including furniture, electronics, home appliances, and more. It is now a subsidiary of Sainsbury's since 2016.

Argos Catalogue

The Argos catalogue was a key feature of the retailer's business model when it was first established in 1972. The catalogues were printed on a regular basis and distributed to homes throughout the UK. Customers could then browse the catalogues, select the items they wanted to purchase, and either place an order over the phone or in-store to pick up the items at a later date.

The catalogues were known for their wide range of products, including furniture, electronics, home appliances, toys, and more. They also featured detailed product information, including descriptions, specifications, and prices, to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.

Argos still produce catalogues but not as frequently as before as the company has shifted its focus to digital channels, such as its website and mobile app, which allows customers to browse and purchase items online. However, the catalogue is still a very important part of the company's marketing strategy, and is still distributed to homes in the UK and Ireland.

Argos Discount Codes

Argos often offers discount codes as a way to save money on purchases. These codes can be used to get a certain percentage off a purchase or a specific dollar amount off a purchase. Discount codes can be found on Argos' website or through various online deal and coupon sites.

Argos also offers seasonal discounts, sale events and clearance sales. Additionally, Argos also has a "Clubcard" loyalty program where customers can earn points on their purchases and redeem them for discounts on future purchases.

It's worth noting that some discount codes may have restrictions such as only being valid on certain products, or only being valid for a limited time, so it's important to check the terms and conditions of the code before using it. Argos PPI

Argos PPI, or Payment Protection Insurance, refers to a type of insurance that was commonly sold in conjunction with credit agreements, such as credit cards or personal loans. The purpose of PPI is to provide financial protection in the event of an unexpected event, such as an illness or job loss, that prevents the borrower from making their loan payments.

Argos, like many other financial institutions and retailers, sold PPI policies to customers taking out credit agreements with them. However, it was later discovered that many of these PPI policies were mis-sold, with customers not being fully informed of the terms and conditions of the policies, or not being eligible for the coverage.

As a result, many customers were able to claim back the cost of their PPI policies from Argos, and other companies that mis-sold PPI. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) set a deadline for PPI claims which was August 2019, but in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the deadline was extended to August 29th, 2021.

Customers can still check if they had a PPI with Argos, if they had a credit agreement with them and claim for the mis-sold PPI by contacting the company or using the services of a claims management company.
