The British Library’s Reader Pass is free to anyone aged 18 or over who wants to use its Reading Rooms for personal study or research, and is valid for three years.
Visit Reader Registration in person at St Pancras, London, or Boston Spa, Yorkshire, bringing valid photo ID and proof of address, and your pass is issued on the spot at no cost.
Once registered, you can request items from the collection to consult in the Reading Rooms and make use of the free study spaces on site.
