Garden BirdWatch is a citizen science project run by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO). Taking part is free: you record what you see in your garden each week, which helps track how garden birds and other wildlife are doing.
How to claim: create a free BTO account and join Garden BirdWatch online to get the online recording system and a weekly e-newsletter on garden wildlife and identification tips. You can also fill in the request form (or email [email protected]) for a free information pack, which includes a free issue of Bird Table magazine.
Conditions: recording is always free. An optional £17 a year subscription adds a book, the quarterly magazine and expert advice, but you do not need it to take part.
