Cat Guardians is a free service from Cats Protection, the UK’s largest cat welfare charity, for owners who worry about what would happen to their cat if they died first.

Registration is free of charge and can be done online or by returning a form to their freepost address; you are asked to add matching instructions to your will or a codicil. Registered owners are sent a welcome pack with guidance, a key fob, a window sticker and a wallet card.

Should the worst happen, Cats Protection take your cat into their care until a new home is found, and they promise never to put a healthy cat to sleep.
