Holland & Barrett’s own help centre explains that members who have added their date of birth and are subscribed to marketing emails receive “a free product of your choice from a selected range” on their birthday. Recent selections have included H&B Protein BBQ Plant Puffs 75g, H&B Oat & Seeds Ginger Bar 80g, H&B Apple & Cinnamon Bar 80g, Dr Organic Argan Oil Lip Balm and Dr PawPaw Shimmer Balm 10ml. One gift per customer, while stocks last.

Create an account or sign in on the Holland & Barrett site, click “Join H&B&Me”, add your date of birth and opt into emails. Your birthday email arrives with a unique barcode – show it at the till in any Holland & Barrett store within 14 days. The gift is in-store only, not online.
