John Lewis runs its own free children’s shoe fitting service, with trained staff measuring both foot length and width and carrying out a walk test to check the fit is right for growing feet.

The service is available in participating stores – some currently fit Geox ranges, with Start-Rite and Clarks styles being added at select branches from Autumn/Winter 2026 – and there is no requirement to purchase.

It is worth booking a quiet slot ahead of the school-holiday rush, when fitting appointments fill up quickly.
