Leightons Opticians & Hearing Care gives free hearing tests at its branches across London and the South of England. The options range from a quick hearing health check of about 30 minutes to a full assessment of up to 90 minutes. Leightons says all of them are free.

To book, use the Leightons online booking system or call 0800 40 20 20 (Monday to Saturday). You do not need a GP referral, and there are no eligibility checks. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.

Adults aged 18 and over only; Leightons cannot see children. A hearing test at home is a separate paid service.
