Scotland’s Baby Box is a Scottish Government scheme that gives every expectant family living in Scotland a large box of essentials for their new baby, completely free of charge.

It is open to anyone living in Scotland who is registered with a midwife. There is nothing to buy and no income test – the box contains clothing, bedding, a changing mat, books, bath and health items, and the box itself doubles as a safe sleep space.

Your midwife registers you by completing the Baby Box card at your 18-20 week or 28 week appointment, and the box is delivered between four weeks before your due date and the due date itself.
