Scrivens, the opticians and hearing care chain, gives free hearing checks. The quick hearing screening takes about 15 to 20 minutes and tests how well you hear across four sound frequencies. There is also a full hearing health check with a hearing aid audiologist, which takes about an hour.
To book, enter your postcode on the Scrivens website to find your nearest branch that offers hearing care, then book an appointment online or by phone. You can also walk into a branch that has a hearing service and ask for a screening.
Open to anyone aged 19 or over. Not every Scrivens branch has a hearing service, so check the branch first. The audiologist may recommend hearing aids, but you do not have to buy anything.
