The Ulster Museum sits in Belfast’s Botanic Gardens and is Northern Ireland’s national museum, covering art, local and world history, archaeology and natural sciences – including Takabuti, the Egyptian mummy, and displays on the Troubles.

The museum’s own site describes it as being set in Botanic Gardens “and free admission”. No ticket, membership or donation is required for the galleries.

It is a walk-in visit during opening hours; check the days before travelling as the museum is not open every day of the week. Occasional special exhibitions may be charged separately.
