The British Heart Foundation is the UK's leading heart charity and since it was founded in 1961 has raised money for vital research into heart and circulatory disease.

Every two minutes, someone dies from heart and circulatory disease in the UK. It can affect everyone, whether they are seven or seventy, a postman or a politician.

Despite the tremendous advances that have been made over the past 40 years, many questions still need answers. We believe that the key to progress for the future is research. Almost three quarters of our money is spent on research alone. Countless lives have been saved and the quality of thousands of others improved.

Money is also spent on educating the public and medical profession, and on life-saving cardiac equipment.
