ABOUT US:

The Overland Club originated from a Trans Africa expedition in 1992 led by founder Ron Smith. and from thir expedition the company was borne. In the early years the Overland Club consisted of an annual Trans Africa and year by year new shorter trips have been intruduced so that we now offer 13 trips in Africa alone.

Over the years we have been able to, provide an ever increasing choice of trips to meet the demands of affordable and adventurous travel whilst still continuing to specialise in the epic Trails Africa expeditions. We now currently offer 27 expeditions, ranging imm 2 to 28 weeks in Africa, the Middle East, South America and Asia, with new trips being introduced each year

From the start our aim has been to provide excellent value trips in order to make Overland style travel accessible to the budget traveller. a concept that has now spread to 4 continents. Our ethics have not changed. and we place a strong emphasis on balancing the commercialism of expeditions with our beliefs that an expedition should be independent and of a much more private nature.

Whilst the company has grown considerably since that first Club journey, you can still experience a more personal treatment with Overland Club: travelling on an Overland expedition brings people together through their shared enthusiasm for adventure. Our managing director Ron Smith continues to lead trips each year, which allows us to maintain that personal touch, and ensures Overland Club keep well ahead of trends and new routes.

From our managing director to our tour leaders, to our office staff, you will find a shared passion for overland travel and the areas visited on our expeditions. we aim to instil in you this same passion during your travels.
