Peppa Pig World Newsletter

Peppa Pig World is a dedicated themed area within Paultons Family Theme Park, located near Ower in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest. It opened on 6 April 2011 as the world's first Peppa Pig theme park, and visitor numbers to Paultons Park doubled – from around 500,000 to 1 million per year – in the year it launched. Designed for children aged 1 to 6, the area sits within a wider park of over 70 rides and attractions spread across 140 acres of parkland. The site is easily reached via Junction 2 of the M27, around 15 minutes from Southampton Central station.

Rides and Attractions in Peppa Pig World

The themed area features nine rides and play zones built around characters and locations from the animated series. The rides are designed to suit toddlers and young children, with gentle thrills and familiar scenery at every turn. The area also includes the world's largest Peppa Pig merchandise store, where families can pick up toys, clothing, and souvenirs.

  • Peppa's Big Balloon Ride
  • Grandpa Pig's Little Train
  • The Queen's Flying Coach Ride
  • Grampy Rabbit's Sailing Club (a water cruise to Pirate Island)
  • George's Spaceship Indoor Playzone
  • Muddy Puddles water splash park
  • Mr Potato's Adventure Playground
  • Daddy Pig's Car Ride
  • Miss Rabbit's Helicopter Flight

Meeting Peppa, George and Friends

Character meet and greets take place daily on the veranda in front of the school house, where Peppa Pig and George appear for photographs with visitors. Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Zoe Zebra, and Suzy Sheep make seasonal appearances throughout the year. A special Peppa's Early Play Pass has been available, offering early ride access and personal character meetings before the general park opens.

Planning a Visit

Access to Peppa Pig World is included with standard Paultons Park entry tickets. Children under 1 metre in height are admitted free to the park. The pathways throughout the area are flat and tarmacked, making them suitable for pushchairs and prams; stroller hire can be booked in advance. Popular rides such as Miss Rabbit's Helicopter Flight, Peppa's Big Balloon Ride, and Daddy Pig's Car Ride tend to attract the longest queues, so families are advised to visit those first. The park has close transport links to Southampton and Portsmouth, and overnight hotel packages with nearby family-friendly hotels have been offered for families wishing to make a longer trip of their visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Peppa Pig World the original Peppa Pig theme park?

Yes. Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park opened on 6 April 2011 and is recognised as the world's first Peppa Pig themed area. Since then, Peppa Pig-branded attractions have opened in the United States and other countries, but the Paultons Park site in Hampshire was the first.

What age is Peppa Pig World suitable for?

The area is designed primarily for children aged 1 to 6. The nine rides are gentle and suited to toddlers, though some, such as George's Dinosaur Adventure, carry a minimum height restriction of 0.85 metres. Older children also enjoy the wider Paultons Park, which has more than 70 rides and attractions across all age groups.

Is Peppa Pig World still open?

Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World continue to operate as one of the UK's most visited family theme parks. The park is open seasonally; visitors should check the official Paultons Park website for current opening dates, hours, and any temporary closures before travelling.

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

Advance online booking is strongly recommended, particularly during school holidays and weekends when the park is busiest. Tickets purchased on the gate are typically more expensive than those booked ahead online.

Can you bring a pram or pushchair into Peppa Pig World?

Yes. The pathways inside Peppa Pig World are flat and tarmacked, making them easy to navigate with a pram or pushchair. Single and double stroller hire is available at the park with advance booking for families who prefer not to bring their own.

Are hotel and ticket packages available for Peppa Pig World?

Family hotel and ticket packages combining park entry with an overnight stay at nearby hotels have been offered, allowing families to spread their visit across two days – sometimes with a second-day entry included. Current availability and pricing should be confirmed directly with Paultons Park or authorised booking partners.
